Kaitlyn Anne Davies

Yesterday afternoon we were blessed with a beautiful little baby girl. She wasn't sure if she wanted to come into this world head first or feet first, so she chose both. She definitely gets that indecisiveness from her dad. Because of how she was positioned, the Dr decided to perform a c-section. Everything went very well and April will be recovering in the hospital for the next few days. Kaitlyn was 6 lbs, 12 oz and 21 inches long. She is a long and skinny little girl with blue eyes, light brown hair, and two big dimples. She is a MUCH better sleeper than Emma her first night and only woke up three times her first night in this world. She has been eating very well and just loves to cuddle in your arms.
She was born three weeks early due to a condition April had this pregnancy called polyhydraminos (excess amniotic fluid). April looks great and didn't even look pregnant until she turned sideways and had this huge belly sticking out. Here are a few pictures I took and will try and post more later.

We are back in the land of blogging

Okay, here we are again.Life has been crazy. The pictures of Emma are of her toothy grin she gives us and of her independence. When we took her to the park, she wanted to swing by herself and would only let us push. Emma will be 17months old this week and she is a firecracker. She says lots of words as well as saying uh-huh whenever she wants to say yes to something and shaking her head to say no. We are just glad that is a word she is not saying. She runs just about everywhere and is transitioning well to being in Bullhead. We took her to the ultrasound this week and she kept signing all done during the ultrasound. I don't know if she is as excited as we are about her new little sister. She signs now a lot of things, which has cut down tremendously on meltdowns since she can communicate with her words and signs. It has helped her vocabulary too. She does however like to pull my mom's yorkies's hair and no matter how many times she is told not to do it,she just gives a toothy grin and keeps doing it. I will post some more photos of that cute toothy grin tomorrow. She is sure the joy of our lives. Rod is busy taking classes for application to dental school this summer and we are both busy chasing our toddler. Maybe we will post more regularly now,but time will tell.

And I heard Emma and Dama didn't get along!

Here is Emma with her new summer look. She is such a water baby. She would spend all day in the pool or tub if she could. She is starting to become a good little swimmer. Watch out Michael Phelps.
It has been a while since we have written anything on here. These are some pictures we took of Emma for Easter. She now has two little bottom teeth that she didn't have during these pictures. She is such a joy in our life! She is a very happy baby (a big change from the first three months) and she loves to eat whatever we are eating. She isn't a big fan of baby food. She started crawling about two weeks ago and is really starting to scoot around the house. I think we may have gone overboard on all the pictures and video we take of this one, but she is just too cute we can't put the camera down. We ate at California Pizza Kitchen the other night and she had all the waiters and two old couples enamored with her by the end of the night (not so much at the movies though). We will try and be better about posting new pictures and updates here for you all to see.

Back in the land of blogging

What? April is blogging? I know some of you must be shocked since it has been about 6 weeks since I have done this. We went to Bullhead for two weeks and what can I say we have just been busy. I have never been the best blogger, but I think we need to update everyone on the life if Emma.

In the last 6 weeks she has finally started eating her solid food again ( she was pretty stubborn for awhile and would clamp her mouth shut and not eat anything) and now is a great eater. She loves cereal with fruit in it, pizza crust, applesauce, and cookies if her dad sneaks them to her. She is sitting up on her own and rolld all over the place on the floor. Crawling frustrates our little girl. She can get up on her knees and move sideways or push backwards but if she tries too hard she just starts fussing when she can't move forward. Here are some photos from Bullhead in her newborn size shoes and poo bear chair. She has the smallest feet and is still wearing a size 1 at 6 1/2 months.

At her six month check up she was 15lb 10 oz (35%), 26.5in(80%) and happy as can be until they started poking her. I always hate that part. She is so fun and loves to lay on the floor and laugh as she plays with her toys. Here is a picture of her from yesterday. She was sitting up playing with her toys and daddy was watching her while I started making dinner, then I heard some rattling of plastic and I realized daddy was dozing and she had found my ironing pile with the hangers...did I mention if she can find a hanger she goes after it? She loves those things and even when I put them out of reach she still finds a way to roll over and find them.

Well, my baby is awake..I better go, but I will post more pictures later!!

Here she is!

Allright, I know that you have all been asking for Emma pictures, so here they are. We found s swimsuit( only in AZ in February) and took her swimming because it has been 82 out and our pool is heated, then we had a bunch of rain so we haven't gone again. Her dad decided to try the blow in her face dunk her and she did hold her breath, but the crying picture is her reaction afterwards. She was so cute in the water.

She has started vegetables and so we finally got her a high chair. She is still waking up a couple times a night to eat and even though I am really tired, it is special to spend those precious moments with my beautiful baby. She is in her crib now and out of the swing which was a huge milestone for us. She is so cute when we put her on her back because she immediately rolls to her tummy and then after realizing the is stuck there gets very frustrated and starts kicking like crazy.

When her daddy comes home from work her face lights up and she has many big smiles for him. She loves her daddy so much!!

We finally got word that they are sending our insurance check and so maybe we can start to get our lives back to normal. This has been an interesting trial for us. We hope everyone enjoys the pictures.

My first blog experience

Halloween in AZ

This is the first picture I could find of us. Really it is Christmas now. Rod and I had fun planning this Halloween party. I even thought it would be a good time to make costumes ( I will think more about that next time).

Europe up till now

We spent a month this summer in Europe and it was so fun!! Then we packed up and moved from Bullhead City to Tempe, AZ. Roderick is enjoying his time finishing his Economics degree at ASU ( although finals stink). I am being a dental hygienist in Scottsdale, which is very fun! I love the people I work with and it keeps me busy. We are getting ready to head up to Utah next week for our Christmas break and can't wait. This blogging stuff is fun!
